How to apply

Fought relentlessly for eighteen days in quest of peace, the force level described in the Epic states 18 ‘Akshaunis’, seven with the ‘Pandavas’ and eleven with the ‘Kauravas’, amounting to nearly 400,000 assorted troops fighting on chariots, horses, elephants and foot soldiers.

Applications are invited from married/unmarried MALE and unmarried FEMALE candidates for Grant of Short Service Commission in the Indian Army subject to fulfillment of specified conditions.  47th Short Service Commission (Tech) - Men and 18th Short Service Commission (Tech) Women Course (Oct 2016) (Including Widows of Defence Personnel For Technical Entry).
Educational Qualification : Candidates should have passed Engineering Degree or appeared in the final year examination of Engineering course. The candidates appearing in the final year examination of Degree Course should be able to produce the Engineering Degree within 12 weeks from the date of commencement of training at OTA. Such candidates will be inducted for on Additional Bond Basis for recovery of the cost of training at OTA as notified from time to time as well as stipend and pay & allowances paid, in case they fail to produce the requisite Degree Certificate

Pay and Allowances : The candidates will be given a stipend of Rs. 21,000/- p.m. (Rs 15,600-39100/- as pay in Pay Band plus Grade Pay of Rs. 5,400/-)
Age Limit : 20 to 27 years at the time of commencement of course. Born not earlier than 02 Oct 1989 and not latter than 01 Oct 1996 (both dates inclusive)
Training : Duration of training is 49 weeks: (a) Selected candidates will be detailed for training at Officers Training Academy, Chennai according to their position in the final order of merit up to the number of vacancies available in each subject. (b) Candidates neither be allowed to marry during the period of training nor he be allowed to live with parents/Guardians. A candidate who marries during training shall be discharged and will be liable to refund all expenditure incurred on him by the government. A candidate, who marries subsequent to the date of his application, though successful, will not be selected for training. (c) COST OF TRAINING: The entire cost of training is at Government expense. In case the GC is withdrawn from training academy due to reasons other than Medical ground or the reasons not beyond his control, he will be liable to refund cost of training for the period of his stay at Officers Training Academy. (d) Army Group Insurance Fund.
